KITCO Ltd has bagged the project management consultancy (PMC) contract from AAI for setting up a Rs 600 crore new integrated terminal building at the Imphal International Airport in Manipur. This is the second PMC contract received this year from the Airports Authority of India (AAI) after the Mangaluru airport expansion project, which is currently under progress.
The Imphal project taken up by KITCO on concept-to-commissioning basis envisages among others construction of the new integrated terminal building conforming to GRIHA 4 Star Rating, apron link and taxiway, new control tower, parking bays for A321/B737-800/Q400 type of aircraft and parking and internal roads, the release said. The project was to be completed in 54 months. The AAI plans to develop the Imphal airport as an Intra-Regional Hub with facility for early morning and late night operations.
